Park Farm is a former farmstead built in the early 19th century on the site of a former workhouse. The group of buildings comprises a well-mannered and proportioned, stone-built farmhouse, stone-built threshing barn, cowshed and a courtyard arrangement of former cow stalls and stable buildings.

The farmhouse and its ancillary farm buildings are Listed and they sit within an area of outstanding natural beauty. We were commissioned by the owners to consider proposals for altering the layout of the farmhouse as the main family home, converting and extending one of the stone-built cowsheds to provide ancillary living accommodation and conversion of the stables and stalls to provide bed & breakfast accommodation.

The challenge in converting the existing farm buildings was to create light and pleasant living accommodation whilst preserving the appearance and character of the original building with as few new openings as possible.
