Ashmore Manor is a large country house which sits on the edge of Dorset’s highest village and consequently enjoys fantastic uninterrupted views which extend 40 miles southwards towards the Isle of Wight.
We were delighted to be appointed to consider extension and alterations to the main house, originally designed by William Curtis Green, (the architect responsible for the design of Dorchester Hotel in London), a new farmhouse & farm buildings together with a replacement of an existing cottage, all part of the estate.
The extension and alterations to the main house included a new link to an existing oak framed annexe with a new games room, from where the family could relax together and enjoy views over the garden, adjacent indoor pool and kitchen/dining spaces.
The new oak-framed, and elm-clad farmhouse and farm buildings were carefully designed to sit comfortably in this beautiful part of rural Dorset, an area of outstanding natural beauty, whilst reflecting the existing oak-framed annexe which sits attached to the main house.
